Banger World Final 1999 plus 1300 Stock Cars
After many years of campaigning various material cars at The Banger World Final, 88 Alan 'Speedy' Read brought a quick Jaguar and duly won a fast and furious race.
Steve Ovett suffered a spectacular fencing when he had achieved a 3rd place behind Mark Welland. Loads of smart Mk2 Granadas was the norm for WF night.
This was the meeting when 66 Mark Rogers set about a fair few in his Toyota Crown Custom Coupe snapping it well off by turning it around in a qualifying heat. Top car was 670 Tricky's ultra rare stretched Mk2 estate (built by Colman Milne & sold as the 'Windsor' estate).
The night will be remembered for the Allcomers race which featured 60 cars on track, it was action all over & you'll see the damage close up after the race as well. No stoppages either but lots of cars on the grass and all over the track.
Graham Woodward conducted the interviews and Patsy Palmer, (Bianca from Eastenders) helped with the draw.
Once again Spedeworth have produced what must be regarded as the premier showcase Banger event of the year.
